Creation of a modern financial system in Azerbaijan requires connecting businesses electronically with their banks so that customers can use non-cash methods for making purchases.  Accordingly, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan has ordered that all enterprises having cash registers should be provided with POS (Point-of-Sale) terminals.

To date, The RoyalBank has installed POS terminals at over 100 client locations, allowing those merchants to process and settle non-cash transactions more quickly and securely than ever before.  Just as importantly, the terminals make shopping much more convenient for the increasing number of consumers who use credit or debit cards.

Documents required for purchasing POS Terminal for individual or corporate  customers:

  • copy of identification card,
  • copy of TIN,
  • copy of the reference issued by Taxes Authority, confirming
    their activity and territorial account code,
  • copy of the document confirming their business location,
  • open an entrepreneurial account with the Bank, with a minimum
    opening deposit of 800 AZN,
  • application for purchasing a POS-terminal.

In addition, corporate POS customers will need to have a copy of the pertinent regulations governing use of such terminals.
